Sawmill Road Management Company: A Tradition of Excellence in Affordable Housing 

Nearly three decades ago, Sawmill Road Management Company (SRMC) came to life under the leadership of sixty year veteran real estate and property management expert Robert L. Hellmuth.

For the next five years, SRMC exclusively cared for to serving Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) communities in Central and Western Ohio. The company’s work successfully ensured that these units retained their value well beyond the tax credit compliance period of more than 15 years. 

In 2021, developer, manager, licensed real estate broker and social entrepreneur Isbel Toth purchased SRMC. Toth brought more than 45 years of proven success managing an array of affordable housing properties and market-rate housing. 

Isabel has infused SRMC with new assets and a highly experienced, talented and dedicated team. She has expanded the number and types of affordable housing options SRMC can serve, including adding in market rate properties., tripling the number of its employees and expanding services to include leasing, maintenance, compliance, customer service and resident supportive services.

The firm’s portfolio now spans in excess of 1,500 affordable housing units for major housing developers including Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Healthy Homes, Homeport and more. In addition, SRMC manages permanent supportive housing communities in Dayton, Springfield and Columbus.

SRMC team members hold industry certifications for HCCP (Housing Credit Certified), NAHPE (National Affordable Housing Professional Executive), NHMS (Nonprofit Housing Management Specialist), CHAM (Certified Housing Asset Management).
